Two good apps with different edges
UHF is not a weak product, and this page is not going to pretend otherwise. It is one of the better Apple IPTV players, with a 4.7 rating from thousands of people and a design that shows care.
There are two practical reasons people end up looking for an alternative.
Reason one: Android exists in most houses
UHF does not publish on Google Play. If anyone in your home has an Android phone, or the TV in the spare room runs Android TV or Google TV, UHF cannot be the answer for that screen.
Jetpack IPTV publishes on both stores, and pairing crosses the line: an Android phone can set up an Apple TV, and a TV you pair uses your phone's Boost whichever store you bought it from.
Reason two: recording without a server
UHF records through UHF Server, a free companion app that runs on a Mac, Windows or Linux machine on your network. That is a genuinely good design if you own a machine that is always on: recordings go to proper storage instead of a phone.
If you do not, it is a blocker. Jetpack IPTV records on the device itself, including on an Apple TV or an Android TV, and keeps the recording there for offline playback. That needs Boost, and it means the device has to be able to run at the scheduled time.
Pick on that difference. A house with a permanent machine and only Apple devices may well be better off where it is.
Where UHF is better
- It is a polished, well-liked Apple app: 4.7 from over 2,400 ratings, updated regularly.
- Recording through UHF Server means recordings land on a real computer with real storage, rather than filling up a TV or a phone.
- Its sync is part of the free experience per their listing, where ours needs Boost.
- It supports Apple Vision, which we do not.

Is there a UHF IPTV app for Android?
No. UHF publishes for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Vision on the App Store, and there is no Google Play version. For a mixed household you need a player that publishes on both stores.
Do I need a computer to record with Jetpack IPTV?
No. Recording happens on the device you schedule it from, including an Apple TV, an Android TV or a Mac. Nothing else has to stay switched on. Recording needs Boost.
Which has the better program guide?
Both have a real grid with now and next, and both read XMLTV or Xtream guide data. UHF is the more customizable Apple app overall; ours is the one that also runs on Android.
Can I run both?
Yes, on the same playlist. Watch your provider's connection limit if you leave both playing.
