Similar reach, different bill
iMPlayer is one of the few players that, like us, does not stop at one ecosystem. It is well rated, frequently updated, and it reaches Fire TV, which we do not.
Where the two of us part company is the shape of the bill. Reviews of iMPlayer describe paying per device, with a fee for each extra screen. We could not verify the current terms from the store listing, so treat that as something to check on their site rather than as a fact from us.
Boost is a single subscription on your App Store or Google Play account. Pair a TV with your phone and it runs on that phone's Boost, which is the part that matters when the second television is in a different ecosystem from the first.
What the TV can do on its own
Our TV apps are not viewers of a phone's work. An Apple TV or Android TV running Jetpack IPTV schedules its own recordings from the guide, plays catch-up from your provider's archive, and keeps downloads for watching offline, all with Boost.
We could not verify recording or downloads in iMPlayer from its listing. That is not a claim that it lacks them. It is why the table says "Not verified" instead of pretending we know.
Where iMPlayer is better

- It is very well rated on the App Store: 4.8 from over two thousand ratings.
- It is updated often, and its catch-up support is part of the core pitch.

Does iMPlayer charge per device?
Third-party reviews describe a per-device model with a fee for extra devices, and we could not verify the current terms from the App Store listing, which only says the app has in-app purchases. Check their site before buying.
How does Jetpack IPTV charge?
Boost is one subscription on your store account, monthly or yearly. A TV you pair with your phone uses that phone's Boost, so a second screen does not mean a second payment.
Which one records?
Jetpack IPTV records on the device with Boost, including on Apple TV, Android TV and Mac. We could not verify recording in iMPlayer.
Is either on Fire TV?
iMPlayer advertises a Fire TV build. Jetpack IPTV is not on Amazon's store: on TVs we cover Apple TV, Android TV and Google TV.
